From October 31st to November 1st , a meeting of the representatives of Norwegian and Russian universities participating in the Barents + mobility program was held in the town of Narvik, on the campus of UIT – The Arctic University of Norway.
The two-day program of the meeting consisted of discussions on further directions for the development and improvement of the Barents + program. The participating institutions suggested involving new participants from universities – a broader group of motivated students and teachers from the Norwegian and Russian sides. Improvement of the grant application and reporting processes was also touched upon during the meeting, as well as practical issues of working with the Barents + program at the institutional level and recognition of courses for Russiand and Norwegian students.
Among many new ideas participants agreed to start working on an international joint seminar, which would serve as a meeting point for teachers in the Barents.
During the meeting one of the institutional program coordinators, Anton Grigoriev, presented the experience of Ukhta State Technical University and made a presentation on «Promoting internationalization and international exchanges at the university: using social media as a tool for promoting internationalization at the university level».
The guests were given a chance to see the university campus in Narvik and get information about study programs offered by UIT’s Faculty of Engeering Science and Technology.
